This is your official guide to setting up and securing the Trezor Hardware Wallet. Follow each section carefully to ensure your digital assets remain safe at all times.
Inside the box of your Trezor Hardware Wallet, you will find:
Ensure the box seal is intact and untampered. If it appears broken or altered, do not use the device. Contact official Trezor support immediately.
Connect your Trezor Hardware Wallet to your computer via the provided USB cable. The device will display a welcome message.
Open your browser and visit Trezor.io/Start. Choose your Trezor model and follow the on-screen setup instructions.
Download and install Trezor Suite from the official website. This desktop app is the primary interface to manage your cryptocurrencies and firmware updates.
In Trezor Suite, choose “Create new wallet”. The device will generate a new recovery seed of 12, 18, or 24 words. Write it down on the supplied recovery card and store it offline.
Next, create a strong PIN directly on the device. The PIN protects your wallet from unauthorized physical access.
Your Trezor will prompt you to confirm your recovery seed. Always double-check your words and ensure their correct order. Never photograph or type your seed into any digital device.
Once initialized, open Trezor Suite to add supported cryptocurrencies. Each asset can be managed through its respective account tab within the app.
If your Trezor Hardware Wallet doesn’t power on, try another USB port or cable. Should your device become lost or damaged, restore your wallet using your recovery seed on a new Trezor or another compatible wallet.
